Friendly, Outgoing, and Helpful!

These are some of the words that describe Nick Russo! Nick joined the Y for therapy almost 5 years ago. He took therapy for his back and knee problems.

The therapy helped him to prepare for surgery that he was facing. After surgery, he could tell his recovery was going very well. He knows he has more mobility because of his continued attendance to our water fitness exercise classes.

Nick is also very kind to step in when our water fitness instructor, Crystal, has to be out for any  reason. Crystal knows that her class is in good hands and knows Nick cares and serious is about instructing her class. When he is teaching he stays on the pool deck where he can watch the everyone. He counts, encourages, and sings to add a little fun. He even makes them all check their pulse to make sure they stay in the heart safe zone. One member made the comment as she leaving the pool, “Nick is good and I appreciate him teaching for us.”

Nick’s wife, Linda, joined the Y several years after Nick. They have made new friends and rekindled old friendships. The water class can be found eating at Rosa Mae’s occasionally. Nick and Linda always try to make it to our Active Adult bingos. They add many laughs and new stories to share with the group every time. We are blessed to have them both apart of our Y family and look forward to many more great years of exercising together!

Blessings,

Sheila
