Give Back to Local Students and Save on Your YMCA Membership

Throughout August, the Tom A. Finch Community YMCA is collecting new bookbags and school supplies to support students at Thomasville City Schools through Communities in Schools.

From August 1–31, new members who donate two new bookbags and eight school supplies will have their joining fee waived.

Please note that only the joining fee will be waived. Regular membership dues and any applicable prorated dues will still apply.

How to Participate

Bring the following items to the Tom A. Finch Community YMCA:

• Two new bookbags
• Eight new school-supply items

Donations can be dropped off at the YMCA between August 1 and August 31.

School Supplies Needed

Suggested donations include:

• Pens and pencils
• Highlighters
• Spiral or composition notebooks
• Wide-ruled or college-ruled notebook paper
• Folders with pockets
• One-inch or two-inch binders
• Glue sticks
• Scissors
• Dry-erase markers
• Pencil pouches or boxes
• Tissues and hand sanitizer
• Earbuds or headphones
• Hygiene items, including deodorant, feminine products and toothbrushes

Already a YMCA Member?

Current members can participate too!

Donate two new bookbags and eight school supplies and receive:

• Two free guest passes
• One entry into a drawing for a free month of membership

The drawing will take place on September 2.

The free-month drawing excludes insurance-based membership types.
