AGES AND CAMP STRUCTURE

Sunbeams: 5 years old, who are registered for Kindergarten

Dino-Mytes:  5-7 years old (must have completed Kindergarten - rising 2nd graders)

Trailblazer:  8-10 years old (must have completed 2nd grade - rising 5th graders)

Explorers:  Grades 5th grade and up (must have completed 5th grade)

 

 
SUNBEAMS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Campers must be 5 years old but have not yet entered Kindergarten. Campers must have the following documents to be registered for camp: registration packet (obtained at YMCA), immunization records, registration fee, and payment for last two full weeks of camp are due at the time of registration and are non-refundable.

Members: Registration Fee $50, Weekly Fee $135, Y's and Shine Fee $29
                 Late Registration Fee of $60 begins May 1st

Non Members:  Registration Fee $60, Weekly Fee $150, Y's and Shine Fee $33
                         Late Registration Fee of $70 begins May 1st

Note: Vouchers are NOT accepted. Financial assistance is available through the YMCA.

Program Hours:  Regular Hours: 7:30 am - 5:45 pm

Early Arrival (Y's and Shine):  6:30am (additional fee)

Our Child Care program will close the following dates: June 5th, June 6th, and July 4th. The last day of Summer Day Camp will be Friday, August 15th.

 
2025 SDC Trip List!

Registration for these trips begins June 7, 2025 at the Parent Fair!

The Summer Day Camp Parent Fair will take place on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00am - 11:00am. This is a floating event, where parents will have the opportunity to meet some of our staff, pick up parent info packets, t-shirts, purchase additional items such as water bottles or swim bags, and register for special events, clubs, swim lessons, and field trips. We hope to see you there!

LOCATION: The YMCA's facility (indoor pool, gymnasium, activity rooms, etc.) and forty acres of playing fields, playgrounds, shelters, outdoor restrooms, trails and wooded areas provide an abundance of opportunities for enrichment activities. 

PROGRAM COMPONENTS: Weekly themes, organized non-competitive games, archery, art activities, cooking, swim times and lessons, environmental education, character development emphasis, sports skills, group initiatives, devotions, nutritious snacks, guest speakers, camp singing, special pool parties, disc golf, nerf arena, and other fun stuff.  

BREAKFAST AND LUNCH: Breakfast and lunch will be provided FREE at Thomasville High School for most of the summer.  On days and weeks the cafeteria is closed; campers must bring a bag lunch.  An afternoon snack is provided.  Campers should not bring food, drinks, or snacks from home except water.

STAFF: All staff members are CPR and First Aid certified and have completed 20 hours of training including child abuse prevention and BSAC (Basic School Age Care).
