Summer Camp Counselors

We are taking applications for summer camp counselors until March 31st, 2017. Summer Day Camp is a 5 day a week and 35-40 hours/week job. Staff need to be available to work June 5th- mid August. Accommodations can be made for staff leaving to go to college before Summer Camp ends. If you have questions please contact Tracy Lockard at 336-475-8380. 



We are currently taking applications for After School Counselors (SUBS only right now) for the 2016-2017 school year. Stop by the Y anytime between 7am-6pm Monday-Friday to complete an application. Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age and bring 3 closed letters of recommendations..




This position serves members and guests, maintains member service control, answers the telephone, answers member questions and performs various clerical duties.

Applicants need to enjoy, be skilled at and understand the importance of building relationships with people: staff, members, volunteers, donors, community leaders. High degree of accuracy with information provided; multi-task oriented; able to take initiative; effective organizational skills; effective communication skills. Experience with computers required.

Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Interested applicants must love working with people, be at least 16 years of age, enjoy an aquatic environment and have CPR, First Aid, AED and O2 Administration Certifications. 

Hours vary throughout the day from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and pool is open 7 days a week. Schedule flexibility a plus.

GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS - all types of classes

Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.

Interested applicants should have the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of exercise science principles and current practices (certification and/or work experience strongly preferred)
  • Effective teaching skills
  • High level of enthusiasm and personal initiative
  • Strong inter-personal relations
  • Flexible schedule a plus
