Youth ages 13 and up are welcome to use the Wellness Center and take Group Exercise Classes. Youth 11 and 12 can take classes with a parent or guardian.
Tips for Exercising Properly:
- Wear good quality and comfortable shoes.
- Dress in appropriate clothing; fabrics that absorb sweat.
- Start out slowly, build up intensity and duration gradually.
- Drink LOTS of water; before, during and after your workout.
- Warm-up first, this helps reduce the risk of injuries. A warm-up could be a 5-10 minute walk.
- Take time to stretch before and after your workout. Stretching increases safety and performance.
- Don’t rest immediatly after your workout. Cooling down for 5-10 mintues will minimize stiffness.
- Your muscles need 48 hours to rest after strength training, don’t strength train the same muscles two days in a row.
