 Our YMCA offers lots of ways to keep you and your family ACTIVE With our wide variety of activities for anyone age 3 and up we hope you can find something you enjoy that keeps you moving.

Youth ages 13 and up are welcome to use the Wellness Center and take Group Exercise Classes.  Youth 11 and 12 can take classes with a parent or guardian.

 

Tips for Exercising Properly:

  • Wear good quality and comfortable shoes.
  • Dress in appropriate clothing; fabrics that absorb sweat.
  • Start out slowly, build up intensity and duration gradually.
  • Drink LOTS of water; before, during and after your workout.
  • Warm-up first, this helps reduce the risk of injuries.  A warm-up could be a 5-10 minute walk.
  • Take time to stretch before and after your workout.  Stretching increases safety and performance.
  • Don’t rest immediatly after your workout.  Cooling down for 5-10 mintues will minimize stiffness.
  • Your muscles need 48 hours to rest after strength training, don’t strength train the same muscles two days in a row.
